– Frist Photographs
What came first – the bang or the big? Was there sound right from the start or was some kind of space necessary in order for sound to be able to resonate: walls for the bang to boom against? Did light move faster than sound back then already? If you happened to be around, would you have seen the bang before you heard the bang? First a measly fleck, then a tiny cluck?
Or do we have a hard time imagining that beginning even if we would have been present? The universe has no audible or visible growth: all things exist and move in continuous expanse. Its many dimensions exceed all our powers of imagination.
The Big Bang was there at once: like a Polaroid picture shooting out of the camera slit: an instant image, fixed and definite. No gradual growth, no moving images, no crescendo roar.
